Meet The Board Members

Dawn Waddoups, CP

Dawn was elected to the position of President of the Association for the 2018-2020 term at its Annual Meeting in May, 2018.  Dawn had previously served as Vice President during the 2016-2018 term and Secretary during the 2015-2016 term.  Dawn has been working in the legal field since 2006.  She received her Paralegal Certificate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2008 and went on to obtain her Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies Degree from the College of Southern Nevada in 2013, where she graduated with High Honors.  She is also a member of the NALA organization and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.  Dawn Received her Certified Paralegal designation from NALA in 2016 and obtained her Advanced Certification in Estate Planning through NALA in 2018.  Dawn currently work for the law firm of Cooper Coons, Ltd., as an Estate Planning Paralegal.  Dawn previously worked as a paralegal for an AV rated law firm in the Henderson area that specialized in Estate Planning, Trust Administration, Probate, Guardianship, and Litigation matters.  She is also a Notary Public.

Connie Valentine

Connie Valentine has been a member of LVVPA for over 10 years. She was elected President of the Association in 2014 and held that position until 2018. Connie has previously served in many positions with the Association including Parlimentarian, Treasurer, NALA Liaison and is currently the Secretary. Connie is a Paralegal/Office Manager at the Law Office of Brian Shapiro and was formerly with Wanderer Law for over 23 years. Connie moved to Las Vegas in 1980 and started her career in the credit/collection department at the Riviera Hotel.

Jeanette Lacker

Jeanette has almost 30 year’s experience working in the legal field since she started her career in 1990.  She obtained her Associate Degree of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies Degree from the College of Southern Nevada in 2008, where she graduated with High Honors.  She is also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and is a Notary Public.  She currently works for an AV rated law firm, Goldstein Law, Ltd., as a Family Law Paralegal.  Jeanette was elected to the position of Treasurer of the Association in May, 2014.


Deana was elected to the Las Vegas Valley Paralegal Association to serve as the NALA Liaison at the annual meeting in May 2018.  She moved to Las Vegas in 1990 and has worked in the legal field for almost 20 years.  Deana attended the Paralegal Certificate Program at UNLV and is currently preparing to take the NALA Certified Paralegal Examination.  Deana is a Paralegal at the AV rated law firm of Radford J. Smith, Chartered in Henderson, Nevada.
