Carl Morrison, ACP, CAS, RP, PP, AACP, LVVPA President
Carl is an advanced certified paralegal and an experienced paralegal manager for a billion dollar hospitality/gaming company, with exceptional project management and legal operations skills. Carl holds all four national paralegal certifications, including advanced certifications in discovery and e-discovery. He is the award-winning podcast host of The Paralegal Voice through the Legal Talk Network. Carl is a published author for national recognized legal professional and award-winning magazines such as Facts & Findings, @Law, Paralegal management and Paralegal Today, as well as contributing author for an educational textbook, Advanced Manual for the Legal Professional, 13th Edition.
Carl is passionate about education and mentoring future paralegal professionals. In July of 2020, he was appointed to the national Certifying Board for NALA. Since 2012, Carl has served as adjunct paralegal studies professor for ABA-approved paralegal studies program at Tulsa Community College in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Northwest Career College in Las Vegas, Nevada. Currently, Carl serves as ABA Paralegal Education Approval Commission Site Team Representative, examining paralegal programs in depth.
Arelice Parra, LVVPA Secretary
Arelice graduated Valedictorian from VoTech High School with an advanced diploma. She received her Associates in Business from CCSN in 2005. In 2008, she graduated with a Bachelors in Finance from UNLV. Arelice has worked in the criminal legal field for approximately eleven years. She is experienced in record sealing and traffic courts. Arelice is currently employed with The Vegas Lawyers by Paul Padda Law, PLLC. The firm encompasses personal injury, civil litigation, criminal, record sealing and traffic citation cases. Mr. Padda is a life member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Form.
Jeanette Lacker, LVVPA Treasurer
Jeanette has almost 30 year’s experience working in the legal field since she started her career in 1990. She obtained her Associate Degree of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies Degree from the College of Southern Nevada in 2008, where she graduated with High Honors. She is also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and is a Notary Public. She currently works for an AV rated law firm, Goldstein Law, Ltd., as a Family Law Paralegal. Jeanette was elected to the position of Treasurer of the Association in May, 2014.
Deana DePry, NALA Liaison
Deana was elected to the Las Vegas Valley Paralegal Association to serve as the NALA Liaison at the annual meeting in May 2018. She moved to Las Vegas in 1990 and has worked in the legalfield for almost 20 years. Deana attended the Paralegal Certificate Program at UNLV and is currently preparing to take the NALA Certified Paralegal Examination. Deana is a Paralegal at the AV rated law firm of Radford J. Smith, Chartered in Henderson, Nevada.
